He arrived in November of 1996 and started working the next day at Aquilla Restaurant in New Providence, NJ as a busser then worked his way up.Įxactly two years and three days after his arrival into the US he became a part owner of Toscana Trattoria. Restaurateur Benito (Vesel Kadrija) is the very first generation from his own town from Kosovo to land in New Jersey. I absolutely understand the industry is difficult at the moment, however this was completely unacceptableĪvoid this place at all costs! Home Bar & Kitchen in Ickenham do a gorgeous roast and you are far better off going there. With it’s great outdoor patio which is open all year round with retractable awning, Providence Bar & Kitchen is New Providence’s favorite place to spend time with family and friends and get together. We did pay, and I’m furious at myself and my partner for doing so. I honestly didn’t want to pay a single penny. I’ve attached pictures of the food, I think they speak for themselves. I ate 2 potatoes, 2 carrots, half the Yorkshire pudding and one ball of stuffing.įor a £19 plate of food, Arens ought to be ashamed to serve this to customers. I sent my plate back to the kitchen and was presented with the most disgusting replacement of stringy, fatty beef which still had the veins intact. By this point my boyfriend was really hungry so he reluctantly began eating. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt, the potatoes were soggy before any gravy had been poured, there was brown slodge underneath the broccoli ‘gratin’, the stuffing was dry and the carrots were soaked through with olive oil. This beef however hadn’t even left the slaughterhouse and had more rind and fat on it than meat - the poor waitress was embarrassed when she put these plates down. What was brought out from the kitchen was single handedly the most grotesque plates of food I have ever seen in my 12 years of working in hospitality Starters were cleared and we were looking forward to our roast beef main. My chicken liver pate was also okay, however the bread cob it was served with resembled an oil slick covered in butter. My boyfriend had the prawn cocktail, this was fine. We both had cold starters which obviously would have been prepped prior. We were however very well looked after by our waitress, Elouise. The bar staff were standing around chatting loudly and while we were there for only 90 mins, 3 glasses were broken. “You have an hour and a half” she said, before walking us to the back of the restaurant where not a single person was sat. We were greeted by the hostess - I say greeted, but there was no offer of a smile or even a hello. We were really looking forward to celebrating Easter together and chose Arens based on the fact we’d had a great meal the previous time. My boyfriend and I booked for lunch having visited before and really enjoying the food. ![]() Romantic European Restaurants in Pinner.Italian Restaurants for Lunch in Pinner.European Restaurants for Special Occasions in Pinner.
